FREEDOM ISN'T FREE!
Founded in 2007, the Folds of Honor mission is to provide educational scholarships to the spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service members. Their motto says it best:
Honor Their Sacrifice. Educate Their Legacy.
The very first golf tournament benefiting Folds of Honor was held in Michigan. Additionally, Michigan has 74 scholarship recipients this academic year equaling over $356,000 dispersed. Regretfully, 28 fully qualified applicants went without awards due to lack of funding. There is no doubt the FOH impact hits close to home and the need remains great in our community.
To display Ludington Beverage’s commitment to these families who have sacrificed so much for our freedoms, my fundraising partner, Michael Rey and I will finish a golf marathon at Lincoln Hills GC from sun-up until sun-down on July 13th. We are committed to playing a minimum of 101 holes!
To add fuel to this fundraising fire, Ludington Beverage Company will match the first $5000 donated by all of you. That is one full Folds of Honor scholarship.
Michael Rey is the GM of Lincoln Hills and Hemlock Golf Clubs in Ludington, MI and is a PGA professional. Michael is also a long-time supporter of Folds of Honor. To compliment his professional golf career, Michael is the Vice President and co-owner of Towel Tag (TowelTag.com). Towel Tag makes golf towel holders and also donates proceeds of some of their product line to Folds of Honor.
101 holes is intended to honor my alma mater, the 101st Airborne (Air Assault) Division and all those men and women of the United States Armed Forces who have paid the ultimate cost.
Educating their legacy is noble cause and every dollar you give will go to a child or spouse of the fallen or wounded for their education.
There are 13 Folds to the flag of the United States when it is retired. Therefore, our goal is to raise $13,000, which is almost (3) full scholarships for recipients within the state of Michigan. We need your help!
I am also honoring the partnership that Budweiser and Anheuser-Busch have committed to the legacy of Folds of Honor by being the very first Anheuser-Busch independent wholesaler in the United States of America to complete a Folds of Honor Golf Marathon. Every year, a dollar per case of special Budweiser packages goes directly to Folds of Honor, funding hundreds of scholarships to the spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service members. Find the patriotic cans in your market today!
Additionally, I want to raise awareness of the brand-new AMERICAN DUNES GOLF CLUB in Grand Haven, MI. Formerly the Grand Haven Country Club, American Dunes is a project between Lt. Col. Rooney, Folds of Honor, and 18 x majors championship winner Jack Nicklaus. Jack Nicklaus donated his talents and services to redesign the course into a world-class golf course in our own back yard with the agreement between himself and Lt. Col. Rooney that ALL proceeds of the golf course go directly to Folds of Honor top fund scholarships for the families of the fallen and wounded veterans. Beyond its immaculate course, American Dunes is a Patriotic Experience like no other in the world. Take the time to visit and immerse yourself in the story of Folds of Honor and fallen who Folds of Honor memorializes and honors.
My ask is that you consider hitting the DONATE NOW button on this page to make a one-time, lump sum donation in support of my Folds of Honor Golf Marathon effort.
Regardless of the amount, all donations are so appreciated and make a difference in the lives of these deserving individuals.
Thank you for your support of our most honorable military families!
Major Tad Reed
