The 7th Fold
The 7th Fold | Volume 1, Issue 2 | May 2018 | Folds of Honor E-Newsletter
*The seventh fold is a tribute to our armed forces, for it is through the armed forces that we protect our country and our flag against all enemies, whether they be found within or without the boundaries of our republic.

This is where you will stay connected with all things Folds of Honor, such as impactful partnerships, upcoming events, store promotions and most importantly, the stories of the families you stand with.

A Special Thank You

To the mothers in uniform, mothers of our service-members, and military wives who are not only mom, but occasionally play dad, have a blessed Mother’s Day.

Thank you for the daily sacrifices you make to preserve our freedom.

If there’s one word to describe Folds of Honor Scholarship Recipient, Ryan Hilton, it would be perseverance. Ryan lost his father, Lieutenant Lawrence David, a Navy Civil Engineer, when he was only six years old. However, even at six-years-old Ryan persevered, joining the Cub Scouts like his dad always wanted him to, eventually reaching the rank of Eagle Scout. As he got older, he continued to show that same perseverance and strength.

In Ryan’s first year as a Pre-Med student at James Madison University, Ryan lost sight in his right eye. After months of treatments and surgeries Ryan had a cornea transplant. Now, just one year removed from almost losing his sight Ryan has joined Phi Sigma Pi, an Honor Fraternity, and maintains a 3.9 GPA while balancing a full course load, daily medical treatments and his fraternal obligations. Ryan emulates perseverance and carries on Lieutenant David’s legacy in a way that makes all of us at Folds of Honor proud to count him amongst our recipients. He is well on his way to becoming a doctor and serving his community, giving those in need the hope and encouragement they need to persevere. We have no doubt he will be one of the best doctors in America!

2018 marks the 8th consecutive year Budweiser has teamed up with Folds of Honor. This brew was inspired by George Washington's hand-penned recipe taken from his military journal dating back to 1757! For every case purchased, Budweiser will donate $1 to Folds of Honor.

"We are incredibly proud of our Freedom Reserve Red Lager because it was passionately brewed by our veteran brewers who have bravely served our country. With Freedom Reserve we remain dedicated to our mission to support our veterans and their families through our longstanding partnership with Folds of Honor.”

Ricardo Marques
Vice President, Budweiser

To date, Budweiser has donated a total of $14 million toward educational scholarships in partnership with Folds of Honor. This has contributed to more than 3,000 scholarships for families all across the country. We're beyond grateful for their support.
Please share this great news with family and friends. Freedom Reserve will be available May through September 30 or while limited supplies last. Have them visit their local supermarket, convenience store, restaurant or bar and ask for the Budweiser Freedom Reserve in support of our military families.
